Here's where I'll entertain the general bulk of spec questions!

Greetings Earthling, they call me Streele the time traveler; how goes you? Pretty spiffy, actually. I was super anxious about this day one, but it's been manageable. I'm glad someone found my box of costumes. Awwww, thanks!

I'd put out a late edition of my column, but I'm definitely at a "need more data" stage.

What is a Sun Tzu quote that you find to be applicable to Survivor? Thus, what enables the wise sovereign and the good general to strike and conquer, and achieve things beyond the reach of ordinary men, is FOREKNOWLEDGE. Now this foreknowledge cannot be elicited from spirits; it cannot be obtained inductively from experience, nor by any deductive calculation. Knowledge of the enemy's dispositions can only be obtained from other men. --From the Art of War Chapter 13 "The Use of Spies"

Hello, spectator friends! I know I've been abysmally non-communicative with you fine folks, but it's been all I could do to keep up with the players. I did in fact have a family emergency on Sunday the 15th. My wife caught a nasty flu, which caused her to have, well, "evacuation" problems. Out of both ends. At once. At 5AM. I spent several hours caring for her, then when things calmed down a bit, I put her to bed. Then I ran my ass off doing the work of two people for a major family event we were hosting that day. When I got home, I checked in on her, made sure she had water and crackers, and she assured me she was okay. I spent the rest of the day giving her space, brought her soup when she said she wanted to try it, until I went upstairs at 8PM and heard her throwing up. I thought she'd relapsed, and she then admitted she'd been "evacuating" at least once an hour all day. For fifteen hours. "Oh. So we're going to the hospital now." Long story short, Sunday was annihilated, Monday we spent recovering (I got 14 or so hours of sleep Monday night), Tuesday and Wednesday were spent catching up here and making certain my absence was excused (I think I'm in the clear, people were largely sympathetic.) Then we got swapped and I've been working on bonding with new tribemates. I've never been particularly good at this process, so please, specs, help me out with questions! <3 Ferret

Some math fuckery: There are presently 195 PM conversations. How do I know? zoraster.freeforums.net/conversation/195 gives me a "you do not have access" notification, while zoraster.freeforums.net/conversation/196 tells me the conversation cannot be found. Assuming everyone has a direct PM with everyone they've encountered: Aviary should have produced 9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1 conversations, as would Animal Pen. Dolphin's replacement into Aviary would have produced another 9, and Human Child should have produced 20. That is 119 direct 1-on-1 PMs for the first tribes. Everyone was introduced to 3 new people at the swap, generating (3+2+1)*2 = 12 new ones for 131 1-on-1 PM chains. In addition, Zor messaged me directly when I was running late for the Cute Raffle, so there are an unknown number of mod-to-player PM chains. Assume half of players have at some point gotten a direct PM from the mod, that leaves me with 142 1-on-1 PMs. Which means there are 53(ish) group PMs. I am a part of four of these so far, negotiating a fifth. Every one of those will have at least three people in them, so 160ish/20ish players suggests I'm a little behind, maybe? That makes...I don't know, some sense? There will be someone out there who kind of obsessively forms group PMs, and others like me who views them as tantamount to a treaty of alliance and is therefore more conservative about them.

Really sorry to hear about your wife's health issues Ferret, hope she's doing better now. Obviously real life comes first before anything else, don't feel bad about not confessionalizing (that does not feel like a word but "confessing" sounds wrong too)
As far as spec questions, how do you feel about your new tribe? With a 3-3 split between original tribes on the swap tribe are you thinking people will vote on original tribal lines if you go to TC?

Well, we pretty quickly learned that the Animal Pen vote was HC 6, Capybara 3. Capybara isn't well-understood, and is a bit...well, terse.
At the same time, Sand Cat has been enthusiastically engaged to Seal and I, and I think the three of us would form a solid bloc.
I get on reasonably well with Quokka, but Cat suggested Quokka would be less happy with a Capybara boot.
All that said, Meerkat is the wild card. Of everyone in Aviary, they were perhaps the least friendly, and were probably aligned with GPanda in the GPanda vs Jerboa squabble, while I was begrudgingly on the Jerboa side, frantically trying to form a third option.
Despite all that, Meerkat seems to be clinging hard to Seal, and more recently to me. I don't think their integration with the AP critters has gone swimmingly. With any luck, Ferret/Seal/Cat/Meerkat would be against Quokka and Capybara. Meerkat could pooch all that by siding with the underdogs, but I don't think they have the kind of loyalty that Seal, Cat, and I are developing, nor the willingness to go to rocks.
For the TC after that, I hope to win Quokka back on side. It's been my experience that even the appearance of a Pagonging can be deadly, so I'd want Meerkat to go next.
Obviously, I'd rather win the challenge, though I think that doubtful. Terrarium's maze is simply better than ours.

I owe you people notes on the last few days. I just gave a shitload of platelets to the Red Cross, and I feel woozy.
I know, platelets shouldn't normally make you woozy, but something went wrong with the reinfusion process and it started leaking into my arm instead of into the vein. It was a VERY painful process, the upshot of which is that the ARC kept more of my plasma than intended.
Sending token messages to my tribemates then going to lay down.

Good morning, evening, afternoon, Earthling. 1. On the spectrum of predator to prey, where do you see yourself? 2. How would you describe your tribe's vibe? 3. What is something game-related that you wish you knew? Salutations, non-terrestrial entity! 1) It is a common misconception, even among Earthlings, that the predator-prey dynamic is an inescapable binary, with grey area between. I reject this assertion, and point to the example of numerous autotrophic and/or symbiotic creatures. I like to think of myself in the latter category - I seek to form symbiotic relationships with my fellows to weather the storms as they come. 2) Tense. Factionalized. There are overlapping entangling alliances, and if we end up in TC here it's going to be sticky. 3) Where Harp Seal's head is at.
