That's right! I gave you your own thread <3 Xoffy's Corner
Hello, and welcome to your very first of possibly many confessional questionnaires. This is where I, xoffy, pop into your confessional and ask all the burning questions that are specific to you, yes you [insert player name here]! Only the most quality content scientifically and mathematically calculated to get the maximum enjoyment from you, [insert player name here] and for us the spectators at home. So let's just dive in, shall we?
1) It's been a few hours since the game started and I hope you've had a chance to talk to everyone. Is there anybody in particular who sticks out? Who do you like best? Who are you indifferent about? Do you have anybody you could gladly do without?
2) Everyone is such cute animals, aren't they? I just want to respectfully and affectionately pat every avatar there is. But, why do you think the animal that you are is the cutest? Is there any animal who you thought was cuter that you didn't get? Does your choice affect your strategy at all?
3) Much of this game has already been spelled out for you in advance, isn't that neat? Is there any mechanic you're most looking forward to? Any you're worried about? Do you have any specific plan going forward to best adapt to the upcoming twists and mechanics?
4) Everyone comes into a game with different skills or hopes and goals. What are some of yours? What are you looking to achieve? What skills are you bringing to the table?
5) If you had to describe your gameplay style as a weather phenomenon or natural disaster, which would you be and why?
That's all the time we have for you tonight. Stay tuned 'til the next time we pop by, [insert player name here], we're wishing you the best of luck.

1) Well, you SAY I've had a chance to talk to everyone buuuuuuut I have more messages from Sugar Glider and Jerboa individually than I do Seal, Owl, Panda, Lemur, and Rabbit combined! And none at all from Human Child... Those two do stand out. They're conversationally flexible, and responsiveness in this anxiety-laden first day has been a godsend. I don't know what's made me more anxious - having TEN people to get to know immediately, or having six of them be virtually non-entities. Meerkat and Klipspringer occupy the middle tier there, btw. Meerkat has been a bit slower on the start, but I'm getting a positive feel for them. Klipspringer is just...odd so far. My jury's still out there. I'd target a lurker if the vote were held today, but of the active players on my tribe I'd miss them the least. But hey. It's 8.5 hours in. Anything can happen. Maybe Lemur had a long day at work and collapsed on their couch when they got home, and will be a dynamo tomorrow. This is why I try not to lock in any judgments, positive or negative, for the first 24 hours or so. 2) Oh fuck off, ferrets? If I have to explain why we are adorable then...I don't know if we can be friends any more. Quick, clever, fierce, determined, and THAT BOOPABLE NOSE! Ferret was my first choice, though I did prepare alternative reporter outfits for my 2/3/4 choices.
And nah. No strategy effects.
3) Super honest - I've barely looked forward to the mechanics. A certain mod who shall remain nameless, twisted my arm with adorableness to get me to sign up at the last minute, and I haven't had a chance yet. I really ought to read that some time.
4) Hell if I know. I'm here to have fun. I decided to go with a light gimmick as an intrepid investigative reporter, which should be more effective as an icebreaker and as incentive to engage with the specs, which has always been a weakness. As for skills, I have a strong social ground game, but have never stuck the landing post-merge. That would be nice.
5) I think we've had this conversation before, so I'll address what I'm *going for* in *this game* - I'm going to say Sinkhole. I have my reasons, draw your own damn conclusions!

Aww, thank you! I guess I have to come back with multiple versions of this then, huh? Thanks for the answers though!

Xoffy's Corner
Hey there, we're back again much earlier this time than I'm sure you(or frankly even I) expected! Maybe we'll make this an every round thing, we might have the budget for that. Either way, we very much appreciate your previous answers to our first questionnaire [insert player name here] and we've spent the time since thinking up even more personalized questions that are only just for you. Let's just dive in here, shall we?
1) You all put quite a lot of work into that first challenge, good work! But do you think that anybody in particular's performance has had any effect on how they're viewed in the tribe? Or does this not even enter into how you think about the game?
2) The Aviary has escaped the first tribal council, well done! Did you feel that you personally benefitted from not being at TC so early? What are you going to do in your free time? If you had gone to Tribal, how do you think it would have played out?
3) There are many different ways to play survivor, what sort of player are you? Are you the kind who plans out rounds in advance or are you the sort that takes each round as they come and figure it out then, or a mix of the two? Would you consider yourself to be more strategic or more social or something else entirely?
4) Music is often a thing that people find relatable and has a lot of meaning, pick a song that either represents you as a person or might be representative of how you plan to play this game.
Just 4 questions this time, the amount will vary according to many variables including the position of the moon and stars in conjunction with the state of the game and the amount of sleep I've had that day. Good luck with all of your endeavors here, insert player name here, we'll catch you again soon!

Most of these questions are stale, so I'll just address 3 + 4.
3) Planning rounds in advance, are you insane? I don't have nearly the kind of vision that would require, nor the rigidity which would demand I stick to such an inflexible plan. I'm trying to strike a balance between social and strategic. I've tried cold and process-based, and I've tried social butterfly. Neither has worked beyond merge for me thus far. I am instead trying to chart a course between them, remaining nonthreatening to all while setting myself up for multiple contingencies.
4) I don't know if this represents my strategy, but it's a video I discovered while talking classical music with someone (Jerboa maybe?). My queue contains a ton of classic rock, so YouTube's algorithm decided "you must want classical rock, then".
Nevertheless, I shall force-map it onto my strategy!
In watching this video a dozen or more times, I became fascinated with the musicians involved. I learned that they had had very similar schooling, and had been rivals for many years before collaborating. In doing so, they became something more than the sum of their parts, and floored the audience. Nevertheless, the looks exchanged between the performers as they play are still somewhat adversarial, questioning, "Can you keep up with THIS?" as they crescendo, blowing away their audience. I find myself in partnerships like that through this game, as I riff with frenemies and quislings. Chief among these collaborators thus far has been Sugar Glider, with Jerboa briefly occupying a similar position (his antagonism with GPanda quickly became a liability). Lately, though, particularly as we moved to Paddock, my best partners have become Harp Seal and now Sand Cat. We'll see how that works out!
