This is going to be another tough tribal.
First of all, from a numbers perspective, this joint tribal is a good thing. With four Paddock and only three Terrarium, Paddock is in a position where in case of disagreement, we could enforce our numbers advantage and send a Terrarium member packing. The issue: we would need Sand Cat to vote with us, which I don't think is a certainty. More on that later.
Seal and Meerkat want to pull in their former buddy o' pal Dolphin. Reportedly, Dolphin saved himself by playing an idol in the last Terrarium tribal, which is why Shrew went home. So I could definitely see Dolphin and I bonding over the fact that we both had to play an idol due to crazy tribal councils. So I'm feeling pretty inclined to not vote Dolphin.
On the other hand, Sand Cat initially suggested voting Dolphin. After all, it would probably wouldn't be too hard get Pika and Slow Loris to vote Dolphin again. If I sided with them, that would be four votes, and Dolphin would go home. The issue with that: Seal and Meerkat would be upset. And while I don't want to vote another former Animal Pen member out, I find it very hard to justify not voting with the people who actively worked to save me and bring me into an alliance just two tribals ago. Sand Cat asked me if I think it would be "relationship ending" to vote out Dolphin against Seal and Meerkat's wishes, and I think the answer to that would be yes. They'd see me as someone who flipped just to avoid voting out a former Animal Pen member, how could they trust me going forward?
So now I'm facing the tough choice of voting out either Pika, Slow Loris, or Sand Cat. I really don't want to vote out Sand Cat. I've bonded with and worked with her the most out of the three former Animal Pen in this joint tribal council. Even though she did write my name down in the past, I think she is someone I can work with again. She upfront told me that she hopes to vote with me this tribal. However, not voting her out here does carry some risk. Knowing that Seal, Meerkat, and I won't go for voting Dolphin, she could decide that rather than be forced to watch Pika or Slow Loris be voted out, she could instead rally the troops against me again. If Pika and Slow Loris voted with her against me, all she would need to do is get Dolphin to vote with them. So it's really important that we successfully pull in Dolphin.
Picking between Pika or Slow Loris is not an easy decision. I think I will be viewed as duplicitous by voting either of them out, which is not a reputation I want to carry into the merge. For starters, Pika and I formed an alliance together back in Animal Pen with Shrew, so voting for Pika would be a total backstab. However, I would probably get away with it. With Shrew already voted out (RIP), the CRRAP alliance could die with Pika here. But I'm not sure if I want to build the reputation a someone who breaks alliances. On the other hand, if I vote out Slow Loris, I'm not breaking any alliances. While I did say I'd look out for Slow Loris during the last Animal Pen tribal, I don't think I can do the same here. Ultimately, voting out Pika or Slow Loris over Sand Cat makes sense to me because I've spent so much more time getting to know Sand Cat and working with her than Pika and Slow Loris combined. Even though Sand Cat voted for me in the past, she is the person I've talked to the most so far this game. It doesn't make sense for me to vote her out over Pika or Slow Loris.
Whatever Seal, Meerkat, and I decide is who I'll be voting for tonight. It will likely be a 4-3 split. Dolphin really is the swing vote this tribal, and I'm hoping he'll be on my side. If I'm not convinced of that though by this evening, I could be in trouble. If Pika, Slow Loris, or Sand Cat have an idol, I could be in trouble. This vote is not going to be a clear shot. I'm not going to be proud of writing down either Pika or Slow Loris's name tonight. But it has to be done.
