Real Estate Animals
Challenge Number: 10
Challenge Name: Real Estate Animals
Contact First for Questions: Zoraster
Rules for Discussing with Others: Do Not Discuss Strategies, bids, etc.
Form/Thread: forms.gle/gAJbRDSJaAyctBrU9
Winner Determined by: Highest Points Accumulated. Tie-breaker below.
What needs to be submitted to win: The form
Time limit or Max Time if Applicable: None. You may try as much as you want up until the deadline.
Rewards: Immunity to the Winner
Deadline: June 5 @ 8pm EDT
Description:
Zontians love House Flipping TV Shows. Now it's your turn.
There are 12 properties for sale. Each one is worth a certain point total, 1-12 points.
You also have 10 Zorbux to spend. You will put in bids on each property in the following, randomly determined auction order:
1st: 12 Point Property
2nd: 2
3rd: 9
4th 3
5th: 7
6th: 10
7th: 8
8th: 5
9th: 1
10th: 4
11th: 11
Last: 6 Point Property
So the 12 point property will go up for auction first and the 6 point auction will go up last.
You will use the form to select how much you wish to bid on each property. You may bid up to 8 Zorbux on any individual property (you have 10).
When a property comes up for auction, the winner will be the player who placed the highest bid. The amount they have to spend will be the second highest bid + 1. In the event of a tie, the tied players divide the points evenly, rounding down, and the cost will be the high bid entered for all players. This is, as we like to say on Planet Zonty, a "bad deal."
In the event a player does not have the Zorbux they indicated, they will only be able to bid up to the amount they have.
Winning
The winner will be the player who accumulates the most points at the end of all of the auctions. In the event of a tie, the player with the most Zorbux remaining will win. If it is still tied, those who are tied are not immune but rather have -1 Votes placed against them (i.e. it negates the first a vote placed against them).
Discussing With Other Players
You may discuss the challenge generally, but you may not discuss strategies, bids, etc. with other players. As an example, you may say things like, "dammit, why is Zor giving us another stupidly complicated outguess-the-other-players challenge?" but not "I'll bid on the evens and you bid on the odds"
Form: forms.gle/gAJbRDSJaAyctBrU9
Deadline
Please submit this by 8pm EDT. Please keep in mind that this is a fairly labor intensive game for me, so may take a while to run. You may update your entries as much as you want but I'd prefer if you limited that within 30 minutes of the end of the deadline just so I can prepare better. That's not a rule -- I'll still accept the updates -- just a request.
