Hello, welcome to Dolphin Diaries. This is where Dolphin plots to overtake humans as the dominant species on Earth be crowned the most adorable critter. Hope you enjoy your stay!
Being a replacement is really awkward. Those first two days are so useful to have as an experience, to really get a feel for what a game will be like. I'm playing at a different rhythm, riding a different wave than everyone else. Maybe this will give me a change in perspective though.
So far in this first day of replacing in, Jerboa and Sugar Glider have been the most welcoming to me, and I'm still in my first 2-3 messages with most others. I suppose starting on a Monday would do that! We'll make it work though.

Alright! With two days to catch up with this tribe, let's see what I've got.
The two strongest personalities on Aviary are clearly Jerboa and Sugar Glider. Jerb is ready to play and wants everyone to be as ready to play as he is. I can't blame him really - I'd also love for there to be some action from the start - but he's coming on a bit strong. He's messaged me the most, but I think he's probably messaged everyone the most. I do think he actually likes me, which is a plus! But I'm on my guard.
If Jerb is a big strategic presence, then Sugar is his social counterpart. The things Sugar says just come out sounding really genuine, and Sugar says a lot of things quickly. We had a nice back-and-forth last night and I think he likes me too. I'm worried I won't be active enough for his tastes, but oh well.
But my personal favourite so far is Harp Seal. We have a lot in common! And their messages to me are just fun. We aren't on at the same times most of the time, but I don't think that phases either of us. I've made sure to make it clear that I like him and want to work with him.
Ferret is another person of interest, though I don't have so strong feelings about him. He wasn't so active early on, but Jerb and Sugar both obviously love him. Jerb/Sugar/Ferret is the group of three that I'd say is at the 'top' of this tribe.
Others are kinda... there? Giant Panda is fun but I'll need to wait for things to get more interesting before I know if they're worth trusting. Jerb likes Rabbit, and I think she's fun too, but it's still early with her. Uhhh Meerkat has a lot of messages with me but still not what I'd call a solid first impression. Whet Owl has been the least active with me, other than Lemur who is going to go out first for not being here.

Sugar has offered me a 'Parents Alliance' with Ferret. Sweet! I'll roll with it. I don't know how many little alliances Sugar is offering to other people, but right now that's not too much of a concern to me.
Jerb is saying he wants to form a voting bloc, and ideally would want Sugar and Ferret in it. So he's in the same place as Sugar really. Fits with the Jerb/Sugar/Ferret group I talked about in the other message. Well, I seem to have done pretty well on them.

I think I'm impressing Ferret too now? He's impressing me tbh, in a slightly intimidating way!  I can see why he was so fiercely protected - he's got tons of charisma. He's really confident too. I suspect Ferret and Rabbit are two players who would get on well easily. Wait a second, Jerb mentioned Rabbit being a critter who was less active early on, but who he'd be willing to stick up for Jerb/Ferret/Rabbit alliance? With Sugar possibly with them? |

I thought about throwing a stray vote myself just to mess with someone. I can take it!

Harp Seal is implying it was Jerboa, and he's saying that Jerboa wants to pin the blame for it on Giant Panda.
I could easily see it being either of them. Frankly I don't really care, but it's at least something interesting to talk about!

Harp Seal wants to make a move on Jerboa at the next TC. I... lean towards not wanting to do this? Jerboa may be out here with the wacky strats early on, but that's kinda hilarious and I appreciate his enthusiasm. Plus, getting Jerboa out would be good for the sanity of the tribe maybe, but would it be good for me? Not really. I think Jerboa actually likes me and wants to work with me.
But mostly if Jerboa is actually out here with the #bigmoves on Round 3, then that's hilarious and I'm all here for it.

Especially if the alternative is Giant Panda, who I'm not really feeling so close to right now. In fact, Panda might be my most preferred vote out of this lot

Rabbit and I got pretty close in the hours before the swap hit. I didn't realise Rabbit was a fan of me, but apparently I'm what she's looking for? Cool! I'm a bit uneasy, I don't really know what I've done to impress her and sort of assumed they had me as a sort of middle person on the tribe. But I'll roll with it if she wants to be close.
